DANA
is from Scandanavian mythology. The name meant mother of the gods; a more modern meaning is bright as day. DANA is another name that can be used for both boys and girls. In Hawaiian mythology HAUMEA is the earth-mother goddess and mother of the volcano goddess Pele. 'ALOHI is the word for bright, shining as in the phrase "'Alohi elike me ka la i ke awakea"-as bright as the sun at noon.
